Served as Director of Business Development for Healthcare Advantage, Inc., New Orleans, LA.

Trained personnel in selling, implementing and coordinating new business for ancillary products such as Life, AD&D, Travel Accident, Business Insurance, Short Term and Long Term Disability products. Directly sold HMO, PPO, POS, EPO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Medical Reimbursement and Section 125, Cafeteria Plan including fully-insured, minimum premium and self-funded benefit plans. Assisted operations in managing eligibility requirements, funding accounts such as VEBAs and 501(c)9 Trusts, Reasonable & Customary levels, updates on legislative requirements and COBRA Administration. Developed new products for the company to focus primarily on government entities.

March 1989 to October 1994

Served as Benefits Consultant for Johnson & Higgins, New Orleans, LA (Consulting Firm).

Marketed, negotiated, underwrote, sold, implemented, and coordinated rates, products and funding for clients with both reinsurers, carriers and TPAs. Fully knowledgeable in the 401(k), Life, Medical, Dental, Vision, Long Term Care, EAP, Flexible Benefits, Prescription Drug Programs and Managed Care arenas. Worked very closely with TPAs, underwriters, insurance carriers and clients in servicing and trouble-shooting all aspects of the insurance business.

January 1984 to March 1989

Prior work experience includes Senior Service Representative with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company of New Orleans, Louisiana and in commercial lines and group healthcare divisions in service capacities with Fireman’s Fund and New England Life Insurance Companies.
